In 2020, our Founder met with Alaskan leaders to evaluate how the North Slope's stranded energy could be turned into productive power. The timing wasn't right but the fundamentals were. STAK was launched in 2024 as market and regulatory forces converged to support making Alaska the ideal place to build the electron company.
Our founder, Sparrow Mahoney, is a native Alaskan whose family has been committed to building Alaska before it became a US state. Since interning in the U.S. Senate at 17, Sparrow has paired frontier grit with practical innovation. That spirit guides STAK today as the company converts underutilized resources into dependable, lower-carbon electrons—delivering large-scale power for strategic industries. Sparrow's mission is to make Alaska the epicenter of the electron economy!
