In 2020, our Founder met with Alaskan leaders to explore the viability of bitcoin mining on Alaska's north slope. The timing felt wrong, everything else felt right.
STAK was launched in 2024 as market forces and political leadership within Alaska aligned. Our founder, Sparrow Mahoney, is a native Alaskan whose family homesteaded here before statehood. From the time she was 17 and working as a senatorial intern in Washington DC, Sparrow has been a trailblazer with a deep love of Alaska. Her track record of entrepreneurship shows that when the grit and determination of a pioneer align with innovation, good things happen. Today, Sparrow is recognized as an accomplished entrepreneur and global expert in digital assets. She and the team at STAK are committed to making Alaska the epicenter of bitcoin mining and edge computing.
