ORIGIN STORY
In 2020, our Founder met with Alaskan leaders to evaluate how the North Slope's stranded energy could be turned into productive power. The timing wasn't right but the fundamentals were. STAK was launched in 2024 as market and regulatory forces converged to support making Alaska the ideal place to build the electron company.
Our founder, Sparrow Mahoney, is a native Alaskan whose family has been building Alaska since before statehood. A U.S. Senate internship at 17 marked the start of Sparrow’s blend of frontier grit and practical innovation. That perspective — combining on-the-ground realities with policy understanding — guides STAK today as the company converts underutilized resources into dependable, lower-carbon power, delivering large-scale energy for strategic industries. Sparrow’s mission is to position Alaska as the center of the electron economy.
